Fraudulent auction house selling Fake art and provided a Forged certificate of authenticity. I won an “original” Jean-Michel Basquiat painting and I knew it was too good to be true. This was sold to me as an “authentic original.” When I asked for provenance and COA, they sell they said “consigner has provided no provenance” which made me worry. A full week later a COA arrived that was forged as a Googe search returned zero confirmation of the existence of the authenticating person or company. I contacted the auction house for the fifth time at this point seeking an amicable resolution, and instead they threatened me with a penalty on top of a dispute they filed on my Live Auctioneers account. I replied yet again that “legally, ethically and morally, this should have been listed as ‘ attributed to ’ or more likely ‘ in the style of ’ the artist as that is the standard any reputable auction house would adhere to. Still no response from Geriontus. Buyer beware! My negative review is the 3rd or 4th out of 35 reviews stating they are selling fake artwork. That’s 10 % of their review base! Live Auctioneers should never allow unscrupulous auction houses on their platform!
