Responsive and easy in-person pickup
The Newel team is always very responsive to e-mails and calls and they make in-person pickups a breeze. Highly recommended!

Very friendly and Huge Auction house
This is an amazing auction house, was greated at the door when I went to pickup my purcgase and got a chance to walk around and tour their massive facility. Everone was very friendly and helpful! I look forward to doing business with Newel Auction house again!

Horrible experience
Dishonest descriptions for new items sold as antiques. Prices above current retail prices. Terrible customer service.

Here is the catalog description of the lot in question: "21st c., USA, black enameled sheet metal, the cantilevered tripod bases supporting an angled lamp with a tapered semicircular shade, in the style of Serge Mouille". The lot opened at $10. The bidder bid it up to a price that they later regretted. This is call buyers remorse. He is upset we insisted he follow through on the purchase. Disgraceful that he left us a bad review due their impulse control problems.

Positive Experiece
The auction house was very helpful and responsive with me trying to have a messenger come to pick it up as a simpler answer than a shipping company. All worked out perfectly. Excited to have the piece in my collection.

The packing and shipping was outstanding!!
I just received (2) large crystal obelisks that were beautiful and thoughtfully packed... such a treat to see the attention and care given to these... what a treat!!

Item was completely different than pictured
I won a walnut Widdicomb nightstand. The item was photographed showing some waterstains etc. to the wood which was expected. However, when I arrived to pickup the nightstand, it was completely painted over in yellow. I told the employee the item I won was unpainted wood and showed him the liveauctioneers listing. He just said the item was changed since the photos were updated ... obviously?). There was absolutely nothing in the description noting it had been painted over. I drove over 4.5 hours total and paid expensive NYC tolls to pick up this item, so I took it with me rather than fight & try to get a refund for something I had already prepaid for. So now I have a hideous yellow nightstand to give away. I will never use this auction house again and certainly can not recommend them to anyone-who knows what you're actually bidding on.

Postive Experience
Participated in Newel's first online auction an was successful on one item. There was a small glitch in shipping but it was resolved quickly with the help of David H. Looking forward to future Newel auctions.
