Abstract Antique

The abstract style is a broad topic that encompasses a lot of different movements in art, created at the end of the 19th century until the 21st century. The term is used to describe works of art in which the artist does not try to portray accurate representations of reality. Instead abstract art predominantly uses geometric shapes, identifiable things, bold color schemes, unusual forms and gestural marks to achieve meaning. The abstract style can be found not only in paintings, sculptures and drawings but also in architecture and jewelry. It can be seen as a mainstream of the contemporary art scene. Some of the most influential artists started to experiment with abstract forms to depict things that were much more subjective like moods and emotions.
