Mixed media is an art technique, in which different media or materials are combined and incorporated into one art piece. Whether they're wet, dry or both, various mediums such as fibers, papers, inks, acrylics, oils, crayons, pencils, pictures from newspapers and magazines, cardboards can be incorporated into canvases or even in three-dimensional objects and artworks. This technique became popular around 1912 when the fathers of Cubism, Pablo Picasso and Georges Braque started to use collages of mixed media in their art.
