The owners of this estate contacted the Archaeological Dept. at the University of Iowa about this collection. The University of Iowa suggested to have Russ Hayward (Midwest Auctions Inc.) examine the collection. The owners then decided to have an auction, conducted by Midwest Auctions Inc.
