The 31 October 2007 Bloomsbury New York auction includes a wide array of books, pamphlets, broadsides, prints, photographs and manuscripts relating to America, from colonial times to the end of the 19th century. The sale is divided into 8 sections, beginning with New Yorkiana highlighted by the very first deed for land on Long Island signed by Dutch Colonial Governor Von Twiller. Dated 6 June 1636, it is among the earliest New York documents in private hands ($50,000/$75,000). Sections follow on Colonial America, the American Revolution, the Early Republic, American Natural History, 19th Century America, Native Americans and Western Americana.
