of the Late Robert E. Humphreys of Owensboro, Kentucky Saturday, August
27th, 2005, 11:00 am EST The late Robert E.
Humphreys was a prominent attorney and real estate developer in Owensboro,
Kentucky. Mr. Humphreys developed shopping centers in Owensboro, Campbellsville,
Murray and Maysville, Kentucky. He helped establish the Owensboro Museum
of Fine Art and served as Vice Chairman of the Museum’s Board of
Directors from 1977 to 1990. Mr. Humphreys had a great love and appreciation
of fine antiques and during his lifetime he amassed an incredible collection
of American, English and French furniture, paintings, clocks, mirrors,
silver, crystal, porcelain, bronze
statuary, and other works of art. The executors of Mr. Humphreys’
estate recently commissioned our gallery to sell his fine collection.
The collection has been removed from the Humphreys stately home in Owensboro
and will be sold in our gallery on August 27th and 28th. In addition,
we will sell a fine collection of American furniture from the home of
Dorothy Stock of Savannah, Georgia, a collection of pine furniture from
a majestic home on Missionary Ridge in Chattanooga, Tennessee, a collection
of oriental rugs and fine jewelry. Plan now to be with us for both exciting
