Mid-Winter Multi Estates Auction

Atlanta, GA: Property from the estate of former Presidential Advisors Robert & Jeanne Ferst to be sold at auction. Chic, dedicated and generous. Many in the Atlanta area will remember philanthropists Robert & Jeanne Ferst for their tireless involvement in the Republican party and substantial contributions to Georgia Institute of Technology. Sadly, Mrs. Ferst passed away a little over a year ago. She set very high standards for her professional work and personal passions, with museums and organizations that lived up to them. As founder of the Robert H. Ferst Center for the Arts, a former member of the Kennedy Center committee and fashion model, Mrs. Ferst was also known for her extensive knowledge of art and as a woman of sophisticated style These same high standards are reflected in the furnishings and artwork from her Buckhead estate, which will be offered at auction this February by Peachtree & Bennett Auction Gallery. Among the outstanding items to grace her apartment are a large Bernard Buffet oil on canvas ?Les Chrysanthemes?, fine jewelry including a David Webb carved ivory and precious stone monkey brooch having emerald, coral, ruby, sapphire and diamond accents, a wonderful classical-style breakfront, 22 Dorothy Doughty porcelain bird figures, Meissen porcelains, bronze candelabras, a collection of seventeen through nineteen century ink drawings, and an eighteen century French provincial commode. These items and many more will be on display February 8th to 11th. Peachtree & Bennett conducts sales the second weekend of every month. For additional information please visit our website
