Berlin to Berkeley

Armstrong Fine Art LLC takes you on a 100-year journey from Berlin to Berkeley. Our fifth auction starts with a strong selection of German Expressionists, fine European prints by Edvard Munch and Wassily Kandinsky, and lots by American Modernist Jan Matulka. This section is rounded out with School of Paris prints and a rare Impressionist drawing by Paul Signac. We stay in Paris for a brief selection of Atelier 17 prints before moving on to American prints from the 1960s and beyond. The lion's share of our auction is devoted to prints published by the renowned Paulson Bott Press in Berkeley with printer's proofs from the Renee Bott collection. Our sale will feature fine impressions by McArthur Binion, Alicia McCarthy, Tauba Auerbach, Kota Ezawa, Caio Fonseca, and many more great printmakers of the past three decades. We will also present a selection of artist proofs from the 1980s published by Crown Point Press in San Francisco, with prints by Francesco Clemente, Judy Pfaff, and Sherrie Levine.
