February Fineries

Stefek's presents February Fineries, an auction offering a plethora of fine art, works on paper, crystal and glass, sterling silver, furniture, and more decor and design. Fine art represented in this sale includes a painting by Alfred Fowler Patten titled "Maria Composing the Letter to Entrap Malvolio", depicting a scene from Shakespeare's "Twelfth Night". In addition, paintings by Paul Ambille, Dwight William Tryon, Chauncey Foster Ryder, Pierre Bittar, Maxime Maufra, and Frederick Papsdorf will be on offer. A stunning watercolor by Paul Jenkins titled "Phenomena Wind Chamber" will be available. Highlights of our works on paper offerings include "Tjigerkat", a lithograph by Oskar Kokoschka; "Enough", an aquatint by Blanche McVeigh; "Homage to J.S. Bach", an etching by Georges Braque; and "Three Motives", an etching by Henry Moore. Other artists represented include Francois "Fanch" Ledan, Leonard Baskin, Millard Sheets, Anatole Krasnyansky, Corneille, He Neng, Bram Van Velde, and more. A fantastic collection of Steuben, Lalique, and Baccarat pieces will be available for bidding, including several Steuben hand coolers, figurines, Lalique perfume bottles, and Baccarat "Chartres" glasses and plates. Sterling silver pieces by Tiffany, Whiting, and Hans Christensen will be on offer, including a set of "Royal Danish" sterling silverware by International Sterling, a collection of "King Albert" sterling silverware by Gorham, and a large set of Georgian sterling silverware in the "Queen's pattern". Furniture of note to include two lots of etched glass panel room screens designed by Blair Reed, a pair of swirled metal floor candelabras, a French Boulle marble top secretary desk, and two lots of Chinese wedding baskets. Several rugs from the 1890s to the 1960s, including kilim rugs, Hamadan rugs, Kashan rugs, and more. A collection of Native American woven items will be available, including baskets, bowls, and plaque baskets.
