Hudson Valley Auctioneers will present an unreserved antique and estate auction with absentee, phone and online bidding through Liveauctioneers.com on Monday March 18th.
The sale includes select items from a Park Slope brownstone, an UES penthouse estate and several partial estates. Furniture selections from the Brooklyn collection feature an exceptional 2 piece Pottier and Stymus gilt, carved rosewood bronze mounted parlor set, a large exceptional 7 piece ebonized and gilt parlor set, a fine Pottier and Stymus style marquetry inlaid center table, a marble top dresser possibly Thomas Brooks, a Herter style handkerchief table, an attributed Herter card table, a fine cheval mirror and other decorative items from the period. Also included in the five story brownstone is a large selection of Stickley Audi oak mission furniture in Gustav and L and JG Stickley designs.
Mid Century from the 83rd Street penthouse are led by a Gio Ponti for Singer walnut headboard with cabinets, A Saporiti lacquer dining table, unusual brass and glass table set, a rare Dunhill table clock, a Paul McCobb square table and Planner Group desk and chair among other pieces.
Artworks begin the day with mid 20th century oils and follow throughout the day with many groups of paintings, some early prints, traditional, modern and abstract artworks. Artists include A. Durer, Chaim Gross, W.H.Foster, Scott Brodie, Deborah Zlotsky, George Leboutille, Alice Dalton Brown, Steven Andrews, Charles Seliger, Alberto Greco, Peter McIntyre, Leo Rackin, E. Simoneau, and Peter Max and many others.
Lighting includes two Quezal shaded chandeliers, 2 Arts and Crafts oak and glass lamps and several other traditional and modern lamps, selection of fine paisley shawls & estate carpets, Asian items include jade carvings, several porcelain pieces, cloisonn?, rosewood antique furniture and watercolors.
Porcelain and glass includes Meissen and Dresden.
