Hudson Valley Auctioneers, will present an unreserved antique and estate auction on Monday March 9th at 5:00PM, In house previews are Sunday March 8th from 1pm-5pm and Monday from 2:00pm-4:30PM Items were collected from several estate lots from the Hudson Valley and beyond.
Furniture includes Empire pieces including a cornucopia carved sofa the balance of the furniture offerings are from the prior mid century and of modern design, some Arts and Crafts including Oscar Bach, French marquetry pieces, some good decorative lots and assorted country, Japanese post Meiji period.
The sale includes 3 pianos; two Steinway and an Erard all in 'art cases' with one of the Steinway's a Model D Style XR Aeolien player. A fine William Lewis and Son viola and concert Lyon and Healey harp # 3589 will be sure to attract some attention.
A large selection of various artwork includes pieces by Whan-Ki Kim, William Bradford, Paul Chikamasa Horiuchi, Joseph Henry Sharp, McClelland Barclay, Wolf Kahn (attrib), William S, Coleman, John Hare, Barbara Stadtlander, William R. Flint, Otto Jones, Frank Stokes, Gerard Belciar and many more. Bronzes from the same collection and an additional Red Hook estate include works by sculptors Mary Ann Owen, Jo Davidson, P.J. Mene, Pautrot, Christopher Fratin, L. Bonheur, J. Chemin, Mark Hopkins, David Lemon, Ramon Parmenter, Ron Lee, Joseph Boulton, R.F Elwell, several Vienna bronzes, and Silver Judaica including 2 silver cups by Henryk Winograd
Art glass and some pottery include 14 signed Galle cameo vases, a Daum Nancy, 5 L.C. Tiffany pieces, Quezal and Steuben. 2 large Loetz pieces, Murano dragons and two large Consolidated nudes vases, Rookwood, Weller, Pewabic and some copper work.
Boehm figural birds and groupings, a large selection of B&G, Volkstedt, Dresden, Meissen, Lenox , Mettlach steins and charges, a large Royal Worcester "Engadine" dinnerware service, some fine Chinese porcelain and export china, Doulton Lambeth, Moorecroft and others.
