July Gallery Auction

Michaan's July Gallery Auction features textiles from all around the world! Michaan's Auctions July 17th Gallery Auction offers treasures for all collectors, new and old. Michaans is offering historic dress, high fashion and couture from all around the world. Starting with a beautiful Chinses Qing Dynasty Imperial Cape, Qianlong Emperor, circa 1780. Next up are two magnificent May Morris (English, 1862 - 1938) textile portiere (curtain panels) of pale blue damask woven with Oak pattern. We are also featuring a woven tapestry created by Yohanan Simon Chupa and a rose tree curtain by Alexander Fisher. There also more contemporary designers up for offer as well. Staying on the texture theme, there are quite a few lots of woven baskets from Klamath Modoc, Pima, Yuruk, Paiute and Popago tribes. Our Fine Art session is led by on the most prominent contemporary Mexican artist and is a leading figure in the Oaxacan School of Painting, Sergio Hernandez. Crouching Figures was painted in 1999 and is mixed media on papyrus paper. "Alexandro El Grande" (1968) painted by Jose Garcia Ocejo, also a Mexican artist, will be offered. They are also featuring works by Victor Vasarely, Turkiz Positif, relief polychrome wood (numbered 2/50). Other artist works to be offered from Wayne Thiebaud, Marc Chagall, Jeff Nixon and Orazio De Gennaro. The Asian Art session will be featuring a Qing Dynasty Palace carpet, Hiroshige Choshingure wood block prints, and a Wang Yinxian Yixing teapot. They are also offering a beautiful pair of Horseshoe Chairs, circa 18th century and a Chinese round marble top hardwood table with four stools. The Jewelry and Timepiece department is offering amazingly stunning gold pieces including a Chinese 18k Yellow Gold Bracelet, 14k Yellow Gold Anchor Crucifix pendent necklace and a Diamond, Yellow Sapphire, 18k Yellow Gold Ring. The highlight of the timepieces is a ladies Bucherer Diamond, 18k Yellow Gold Wristwatch.
