The June 9 session celebrates the fine and decorative arts of the “fin de siecle” with opulent furniture and decorations from the Louis XV and XVI Revivals, Victorian, Art Nouveau and Art Deco periods. Highlighting the sale will be over 100 lots of exquisite TIFFANY STUDIOS lamps, sconces, candlesticks, desk sets, and accessories. Featured Tiffany Studios objects include a colorful ‘Peony’ lamp (lot 3455M) and ‘Dogwood’ chandelier shade (lot 3464). Also offered is a collection of Art Glass by Galle, Daum Nancy, Muller Freres, Arsale, Lalique and Almeric Walter. Other highlights include Meissen porcelain; silver by Gorham, Tiffany, J.E. Caldwell & Co., and Black, Starr & Frost; and a selection of bronzes, ivories, clocks, sconces, chandeliers and rugs. One of the earliest pieces in the auction is an impressive Charles X gilt-bronze architectural clock measuring 31 inches tall (lot 3126). Among the furnishings are an Art Nouveau tile top gilt-bronze mounted mahogany console and mirror by Tony Selmersheim with tiles attributed to Pierre Adrien Dalpayrat (lot 3505) and a sleek black lacquered and silver leaf vanity table designed by Paul Poiret and manufactured by Contempora, New York (lot 3477). Complementing the furniture and decorations will be over one hundred paintings comprising still lifes, landscapes, portraits, genre scenes and religious subjects. Highlights include a charming scene of cattle grazing on a river's edge by Louis Aime Japy (lot 3099) and a portrait of Mlle. De Sambreval after Jean Marc Nattier (lot 3094).
