This October, Wright is pleased to present Design, the second installation of its biannual sale celebrating the best of 20th century decorative arts. The auction begins with 175 lots from an exceptional private collection and progresses with almost 300 works by the most influential designers from across the spectrum 20th century design. Rich hardwoods compose a selection of Brazilian furniture and are juxtaposed with airy works by Mathieu Matégot. A collection of custom designs by Wendell Castle from a private residence stands in contrast to a group of works by Paul Evans, and a set of dining chairs by Marcel Breuer highlights a selection of early works. This highly anticipated sale features works by design masters including a Nuage Bibliothèque by Charlotte Perriand, superb carpets by Ivan da Silva Bruhns and remarkable sculptures by Harry Bertoia.
