The circular mirror plate is set within a finely worked silver-gilt filigree mount, the reverse centered with a large, pierced white jade circular plaque carved with boys figure motifs. The surrounding field is elaborately decorated with vibrant blue and turquoise "kingfisher-style" enamels, interspersed with various semi-precious stone cabochons including jadeite, carnelian, and amethyst.The mount is flanked by "Shou" (longevity) characters in silver filigree. The handle is formed by a 19th-century white jade dragon belt hook, the shaft intricately carved in high relief with a chi dragon crawling toward the terminal dragon head. The jade of an even, translucent milky-white tone.
