SERIAL NUMBER: N/A, BARREL: 40 1/2". CALIBER: .45, MFG: 1850's, Nice silver mounted full stock percussion rifle made by George Tryon (1791-1878) of Philadelphia Pennsylvania. The rifle features a full length octagon barrel marked "Tryon Philad" on the top barrel flat, a brass blade front sight and V notch rear sight. The stock is walnut checkered at the wrist and the hardware is German silver. The two piece silver patch box has a button on the toe plate. The lock and hammer are engraved and the lock plate is marked Tryon. CONDITION: Fine. The rifle has smooth metal with a plum brown patina. The lock action works well with set triggers. The stock is full length and has minor impressions from use. There is a period plate inlaid under the stock which bolsters a crack. This matches the silver hardware.
