SERIAL NUMBER 25227 BARREL 5" CALIBER .45 ACP MANUFACTURED 1927-37. Produced in Argentina using tooling from Colt and under Colt supervision. Blue finished with short milled checkered trigger. Short wide checkered hammer, long grip safety. checkered arched mainspring housing and checkered safety and slide release. Mounted with early Keys pattern brown plastic checkered grips with wide reinforcing rings around screws. Right side of slide is marked "EJERCITO ARGENTINO SIST. COLT 11.25mm 1927" Right side of frame has serial number is script. Left side of slide is marked "D.G.F.-(F.M.A.P.)". These outstanding quality model 1911-A1 pistols were the first Colt 45 automatics manufactured under license and produced abroad. These pistols were later replaced in 1937 by a less expensive to produced version known as the Ballester Molina. CONDITION, Exceptionally fine as period of use arsenal refinished. Excellent bright bore with sharp rifling. All correct and matching including the numbers matching magazine. Action operates properly. C&R
