(1819-1895) Confederate brigadier general who served under Beauregard at First Bull Run, and later under Johnston at Shiloh. War-date manuscript D.S., 1p. 4to., Charleston, Dec. 5, 1862, a circular calling the attention of the officers of the district command under Beauregard to unstated paragraphs of an earlier set of General Orders. Jordan Signs boldly at the conclusion in black ink. At bottom right, another hand has added a list of the officers who are to receive a copy of the circular, including generals Roswell S. Ripley, Johnson Hagood, James Trapier, Joseph Finnegan and Howell Cobb. Shows original mailing folds, with a few additional faint folds and slight toning to the edges, otherwise in very good to fine condition overall.
