Antique American LaFrance & Foamite copper fire extinguisher repurposed as an umbrella stand. The cylindrical body retains its original embossed lettering reading "Rescue 5 Gallon Hand Pump Fire Extinguisher - American LaFrance & Foamite Corporation, Elmira, N.Y., U.S.A." along with the large raised "FIRE" panel and detailed operating instructions. A numbered identification plate marked 44 remains attached near the top.Originally manufactured as a hand-pump fire extinguisher, the piece has been creatively converted for decorative use, making it an attractive industrial or firehouse-themed umbrella stand. The copper surface displays a rich natural patina and wear consistent with age, enhancing its antique character. The underside bears a maker's mark reading C.W.D. MFG.
