Large Moro Kris Sword

Description

Philippines, Large Moro Kris sword with a 5-wave to straight double edged blade in laminated steel of the 20th century, approximately second quarter . Blade with engraved decoration at the thin fullers to the straight section of the blade. Chiseled with openwork to either side of the ricasso. Silver sleeve to base of the grip rewrapped with a bright green cord over wood. Grip possibly purposefully reversed, see attached . Fruit or burl wood pommel. Size 28 1/2" L, blade 21 3/4"

Condition

cracks and wear overall with typical oxidization from age currently well preserved with a thin mineral oil or wax coating over metal components.
