Description

Set of (4) marked 23" felt puppets by artist Albert Schlopsnies. They are stamped with Albert's name. He studied at the Munich Academy of Fine Arts from 1913. He designed catalogs for the company STEIFF and created numerous dolls and stuffed animals. He was married to the graphic designer Franziska Scholpsnies. (History of family is in this lot.) (3) Males, (1) female. (2) Have glass eyes, (2) shoe button eyes. (3) Are all cloth, with (1) male having wooden feet. They are very STEIFF like in appearance. Comes with the wooden rack. Condition: age discoloration, loss. They are an interesting lot that is being sold AS IS.
