Description

17 1/2" "Princess Elizabeth", ca. 1938. Made by CHAD VALLEY. Provenance: In 1938, the Chad Valley catalog announced that the Princess Elizabeth and Princess Margaret Rose dolls had been approved by the Majesties, the King & Queen. The (2) Princess dolls did not have the usual tag because the company thought their faces were recognizable. However, they came with a special blue label which is missing from this all original doll. Molded felt head with stationary blue glass eyes, dark honey blonde curly mohair wig. Velveteen body with swivel neck, jointed at shoulders and hips. Dressed in original pink rayon tiered party dress with rows of ruffles on skirt and at shoulders. Pink underwear, white socks. White leather shoes. And of course, her pearl necklace. Stand. Condition: nothing observed. This lot is being sold AS IS.
