2 SOVIET COLD WAR PROPAGANDA POSTERS. Comprising 2 amusing Soviet propaganda posters decrying alcoholism. The first vertical poster, titled Hidden Type of Disease, depicting a man asleep on a table with an ashtray in front of his face and a bottle of vodka with a "Certificate of Disablement," caption reading, "As we can see, the drunk man is not ashamed that he is hurting the work process. His fever seems to not go away, and all the time the fever keeps at 40 degrees." Artist Zavjalov, 1980. The second horizontal poster, "Hide the Bottle, It Is Not Appropriate - My Son Is Coming", depicting two men smoking and drinking on a bench while an intoxicated young man with long hair and hippie attire is carried off by two well-dressed young men, one with a red armband of the Order Patrol, caption by Shumilin bottom right reading, "The example is contagious in the family, and so the son drinks just as his father." Artist Trabin, 1979. Each poster measures approximately 22.5 x 16.75 inches (57.2 x 42.5cm), overall including attractive exhibition frame glazed with plexiglass, 19.25 x 25 inches (48.9 x 63.5cm).
