
AN IMARI COFFEE URN AND COVER Edo period, late 17th century Raised on three scrolling legs, of baluster form rising to a bulbous neck, with a C-shaped handle and metal tap, moulded and decorated in underglaze blue, coloured enamels and gilt with a party of the Seven Gods of Good Fortune, Shichifukujin, below trailing cherry blossom, the bulbous neck with foliate panels enclosing shippo motifs surrounded by rabbits amongst waves, the cover with a pair of dragons below a peach form finial. 43.2cm (17in) high.
