A PAIR OF IMARI SQUARE FLASKS, TOKKURI Edo period, late 17th century Each brightly decorated in underglaze blue, iron red, green, turquoise enamels and gilt with panels of flowering peonies, chrysanthemums, squirrels amongst grapevines and cherry blossom branches amongst bamboo and rockwork, the shoulders with foliate panels to the corners and gently flaring necks issuing from moulded kiku collars. 19.5cm (7 5/8in) high.
