
TWO IMARI TEAPOTS AND COVERS Edo period, late 17th/early 18th century One decorated in iron red, coloured enamels and gilt with shaped panels of blossoming cherry trees and ornamental rockwork in fenced gardens alternating with flowering chrysanthemums, repeated on the cover, the shoulder with a band of raised studs, upright handle and short straight spout; the other of compressed rounded form, moulded around the body and cover with chrysanthemum petals, with enamelled and gilt moulded chrysanthemum sprays, upright handle and curved spout.
