
AN ARITA EWER AND COVER Edo period, late 17th century The rounded vessel resting on three short feet, decorated to the body in iron red, green, yellow, turquoise enamels and gilt with panels of orchids and entwined flowering chrysanthemum stems on an iron red hatch pattern ground, the cover with a kiku flowerhead, upright metal handle. 17.5cm (6 7/8in) high overall.
