A PAIR OF IMARI BOTTLE VASES Edo period, late 17th/early 18th century Of pear shaped form, with tall slender necks, decorated in iron red, underglaze blue, yellow, green turquoise, black enamels and gilt with shaped panels enclosing leafy peony stems, alternating with a weeping cherry tree and floral medallion beneath a demi flowerhead, the neck with upright plantain lappets above a band of karakusa scrolls.
