
AN IMARI 'DUCK' EWER AND COVER, AN IMARI TANKARD AND A PAIR OF MOULDED IMARI GOURD VASES Edo period, 18th century The ewer modelled as a duck resting upon an elaborately moulded base in the form of dense flowering lotus sprays and leaves, supporting a moulded cylindrical neck and cover, brightly enamelled and gilt; the tankard of baluster form densely moulded with gilt decorated underglaze blue medallions; the pair of vases formed as a large double gourd supporting a smaller double gourd, moulded with chrysanthemum stems, the necks with dragons amongst further scrolling chrysanthemums.
