AN IMARI 'POMEGRANATES' BOWL Edo period, 17th/18th century The bowl with deep sides rising to a flared rim, decorated around the exterior in underglaze blue, iron red, green, turquoise and yellow enamels and gilt with blossoming cherry and fruiting pomegranate trees amongst rockwork, the interior with a peony roundel to the well within a band of pine and cherry blossom at the rim. 19.5cm (7 5/8in) diam.
