
A GROUP OF FOUR IMARI DISHES Edo period, 17th century Comprising: a barber's bowl, painted and gilt with a riverside retreat amongst pine and cherry blossom within a chrysanthemum spray border; a flower form dish decorated with flower baskets to the centre within a border of floral panels, the exterior with a floral meander; a dish painted and gilt with cattle before pavilions, standing beneath a densely blossoming cherry tree; and a smaller dish decorated with two quails amongst flowers and millet within a lotus spray and karakusa scroll border.
