A WUCAI 'PHOENIX' VASE, GU Shunzhi Boldly painted in underglaze blue and coloured enamels with large cusped panels to the neck variously depicting a bird of paradise and a phoenix perched on rockwork amongst flowering peonies, the mid section with further panels of peony sprays above foliate lappets to the foot. 49.2cm (19 3/8in) high.
