
A CHALCEDONY AGATE 'SAGE AND CRANE' SNUFF BOTTLE 18th/19th century The slightly baluster body rising from a short shallow foot ring to a cylindrical neck, the brown inclusions in the honey-coloured stone minimally carved to depict a sage and his assistant in a lush rocky landscape, looking up at a flying crane, the reverse plain, stopper. 5.9cm (2 3/8in) high.
