A fine and impressive early to mid 20th century giltwood floor lamp of generous scale, in the neoclassical taste.
The tall fluted column is carved with acanthus and foliate ornament, raised on a shaped tripod base with moulded detail.
The surface retains its original gold leaf finish with areas of wear and rubbing, giving a pleasing aged character.

Fitted with a later handmade lined silk shade of good quality, trimmed with fringe and tassels, which complements the classical form well and enhances its overall presence.

Removed from a country house in Worcestershire.
Structurally sound and of good weight, with expected wear to the gilding and minor age-related marks to the shade.
As with all vintage lighting, electrical testing is recommended prior to use.
