Title: Banksy (b 1974-)'Forgive Us Our Trespassing', Original Double-Sided Poster and Don't Panic Pack 2010
Description: Banksy (b 1974-)'Forgive Us Our Trespassing', Original double-sided poster and Don't Panic pack, 2010.
Description – Exceptional and complete from the 2010 ‘Don’t Panic’ Promotion in Brighton 2010.
This poster is entitled 'Forgive Us Our Trespassing' with promotional poster ‘Exit Through The Gift Shop’ poster to verso.
Almost a decade after the 2000 POW (Pictures On Walls) collaboration, Banksy rose from street artist to cause célèbre.
In 2010 Banksy came back with a new poster to celebrate the launch of his then, new film ‘Exit Through the Gift Shop’ and promoted by 'Don't Panic'.
Exit Through The Gift Shop is a mockumentary "edited" by Banksy, in which a film-maker hanging out with key street artists decides to cash in on the art world's credulity, himself – (The Telegraph, 6 March 2010).
‘Forgive Us Our Trespassing’, Salt Lake City, Utah-
First appeared in 2010 as street graffiti art, the image in Forgive Us Our Trespassing sets aside Banksy’s usual biting satire and derision, revealing instead subtler, more nuanced sentiments. The iconic image of the praying boy kneeling beside a can of paint and a brush first appeared on a wall in Salt Lake City, Utah.
In 2010, the image was distributed in the form of posters at the ‘Don’t Panic’ Promotion in Brighton.
Easy to frame or keep as an investment.
The Poster came folded and is 23 x 23cm and stored in its 2010 original ‘Don't Panic pack’ envelope. This double sided poster comes with it’s original brown paper packaging envelope with a screen print cover by Don’t Panic and other ephemera from the exhibition and promotion.
