BY MACK, WILLIAMS AND GIBTON A large Regency Irish mahogany side table of serpentine outline, the moulded top above a shaped frieze, raised on boldly carved scroll supports with deeply undercut acanthus and stylised fruit carving to the knees, terminating in scroll feet. The robust carving and fluid form reflect high-quality mid-19th century Irish craftsmanship with strong Baroque revival influence.Provenance: Commissioned by Sir Charles Henry Coote for Ballyfin Demesne, Co. Laois This piece was manufactured, along with the rest of the furnishings for Ballyfin Demesne in the 1820s, during its construction, with the manufacturers' serial number on the underside. FURNITURE
