Description
C. 1877. An American flag parade cane featuring a rounded detachable handle which removes to reveal a concealed flag. When extended, the inverted flag mounts to the top of the cane. The 38-star flag measures approximately 16" x 13", consistent with the period following Colorado’s statehood in 1876. The cane is constructed of natural light wood and is stamped “Patent Applied For” below the handle. The cane appears to have never had a ferrule. Condition notes include notable fraying to the flag and minor wood chipping near the detachable knob. The shaft shows little to no surface scratching and remains in fantastic overall condition.
