SEMI-AUTOMATIC PISTOL WITH HOLSTER. Cal. 7.65mm. S# 384478p. Bbl. 3 7/8". Model PP semi-automatic pistol mfg. by Walther during the latter end of World War II. These "ac" coded PPs were produced hastily in a dire attempt to meet the ever increasing armament requirements imposed by the German military. While mechanically sound, many PPs of this variation were produced / assembled by unskilled workers at the Walther arsenal, resulting in notably lower quality polishing than earlier production examples. Left side of the slide is appropriately unmarked, with a hand stamped S# above Walther's "ac" code marked on the right. Metal components exhibit a salt blue finish overall, save for on a few small parts, which exhibit a phosphate finish. Frame is mounted with 2-piece Walther banner checkered black synthetic grips. Slide features a solid grooved matte rib, with an integral blade front sight and dovetailed U-notch rear sight. Matching numbers are present on the frame and slide. MAGS: x1 7-rd. marked with the Walther banner logo and cal. designation on the left, and a "W" on the right. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: period black leather holster, marked with a mostly illegible name on the interior in black ink (appears to read: "Meder Pom"). CONDITION: metal components retain the majority of their original arsenal blue finish, exhibiting some spots of light to mild edge wear, as well as some scattered superficial handling marks overall. Grip straps exhibit some light thinning. Brilliant mirror bore, retaining well defined rifling throughout. Proper manual mechanics, to include the safety / decocking lever. Grips exhibit some light smoothing and minor superficial handling marks, with the left grip exhibiting surface level cracking and chipping along the left edges of the checkered panel. Holster remains malleable, exhibiting general overall wear, with mild age related cracking present on the closure flap. A nice example of a late WWII production Walther PP. (26-1504/MLW).
