Offered here is a pair of Gary Carter game-used Nike cleats from the historic 1986 New York Mets World Series championship season. These black leather Nike cleats feature the iconic white swoosh and exhibit extensive game wear, including dirt remnants and surface scuffs consistent with a season behind the plate. Carter’s number "8" is clearly marked on the heels of both shoes for clubhouse identification. The inside of the shoe is marked "11 1/12" and "86", indicating the shoe size and year. The shoes also retain one of two toe guards, indicating use by a catcher. Carter has provided a bold signature in blue ink across the white Nike swoosh on the right side of both cleats.
Size
5.5" x 4" x 11.5" each.
Condition
The pair exhibits extensive game wear. One toe guard is missing. Stress cracking to heel foam. Leather creases throughout. Carter's signatures and number 8 identification are bold and in excellent condition.
