The 1988 Kirby Puckett jersey offered here is 100% authentic with all correct markings, Rawlings and set tagging, stitching, and sizing for Puckett in the 1988 season. The jersey does not show enough wear for us to describe it as game-used despite including all correct elements. Stiff numbers, lack of velcro use, and lack of wash evidence lead us to this conservative conclusion. It is known that Puckett began the season with size 44 Jerseys that he deemed too small and ordered larger size 48 Jerseys later that year- this may have been a late-season jersey that got little use. In 1988, Kirby Puckett reached the absolute zenith of his offensive powers, putting together one of the most statistically impressive seasons for a center fielder in baseball history. He led the American League with a staggering 234 hits and a .356 batting average, while also contributing 24 home runs and 121 RBIs to the Minnesota Twins' lineup.
