The unnumbered 1924 Champ's hockey card series was issued by the Tobacco Products Corporation of Canada, Ltd., located in Hamilton, Ontario and came packaged with Champ’s Cigarettes during the 1924–1925 season. Most cards fall in the total population range of 20-30 on PSA's registry, making the group an exceptionally rare Canadian set. The Stanley Cup card offered here was supposedly included in the set because the company could not acquire a headshot of the intended player in time for the set release. This example is the first time Lord Stanley's trophy was featured on a card, and it resides in an early form of the famous Cup. This example was recently graded by PSA, the 26th example the company has ever evaluated. All items are guaranteed authentic by Miller & Miller Auctions.
Size
5.5" x 3.5".
Condition
The card received a recent grade of 1 Poor from PSA, but it has strong eye appeal. A trio of surface creases and minor reverse side stains explain the grade.
