1940s NHL Action Newscast Original Photos (6)

Description

This group includes six NHL action photos, five from the International News Photos Chicago, and one from the Associated Press. Photos include a February 8, 1942, Chicago-New York action shot of Clint Smith scoring on Sam Lopresti in a 4-3 win (Includes News caption). A December 21, 1941, New York Rangers-Montreal Canadiens action shot of Bryan Hextall scoring on Paul Bibeault as Tony Graboski attempts to defend (retains news caption). From the same game, a photo titled "Perfect Defense" shows Bryan Hextall shooting on Paul Bibeault in front of a line of Montreal Canadiens, Ray Getliffe and Tony Graboski (retains news caption). The remaining three photos do not include their news captions, but are marked on the reverse by the International News Photo or the Associated Press and include the early 1940s New York Rangers playing the Boston Bruins and Detroit Red Wings.

The photos are in excellent condition. Evidence of the news caption being removed from three out of six photos.
