A superb early pair, this duo of Harvard and Yale football pennants is a rare survivor. The two Ivy League schools represent the long-term pinnacle of both sport and academic excellence. The Harvard pennant features a football player in uniform, while the Yale example shows the school's Bulldog mascot at the widest end. Both pennants are extremely early examples, likely turn of the century. Accompanying the pair of pennants is a Harvard-Yale program songbook from a football match in 1919.
Size
12" x 32".
Condition
The pennants are both fragile and require care when handling. Foxing and moth holes are most prominent on the Yale pennant. Minor paint chipping and edge tears. The Harvard pennant is in better condition than the Yale example, despite fraying to the tip. The Harvard-Yale program suffers edge tears and pencil marks on the top right.
