Offered here is a pair of side-by-side ticket stubs from Game Three of the 1951 World Series in which Willie Mays had his first World Series hit. Also included is a 1956 World Series Game Four ticket stub in which Mantle hit a home run, leading to a 6-2 victory for the Yankees. The pair of 1951 tickets is section 27, row C, seats 29 and 30, surviving together their entire existence. The 1951 World Series stands as a landmark Subway Series that signalled a changing of the guard in New York baseball, featuring the final postseason games of Joe DiMaggio and the rookie debuts of icons Mickey Mantle and Willie Mays. The New York Yankees claimed their third consecutive title by defeating the New York Giants in six games.
