Over nine years, from 1945-1954, Quaker Oats of Canada offered fans the chance to redeem proof of purchase for black-and-white 8" x 10" photos of Montreal Canadiens and Toronto Maple Leafs players. Several players appear in multiple editions, with updated images issued over time. The group offered here includes 51 examples, all Toronto Maple Leafs, and many variants of the same player. For example, the group includes all four Bill Ezinicki variations. Other recognizable names are Bill Barilko, Syl Apps, Ted Kennedy, and Turk Broda. Lesser-known and rarer examples include Harry Taylor, Bob Solinger, and Frank Mathers. The group is also accompanied by a Quaker Oats Checklist ad explaining the mail-in process.
