Offered here are the game-used gloves, skates, socks, and pants from two-time Stanley Cup Champion Nick Wasnie from his time with the Ottawa Senators during the 1933-1934 season. Nick Wasnie was a gritty right winger who played for the original Ottawa Senators during their final NHL season in 1933–1934. While he is most famous for winning back-to-back Stanley Cups with the Montreal Canadiens (1930 and 1931), Wasnie was a significant contributor in Ottawa, finishing the year with 11 goals and 17 points in 37 games. Interestingly, Wasnie is often cited by hockey historians and former teammates like Aurel Joliat as one of the earliest pioneers of the slap shot, using the technique decades before it became a mainstream weapon in the NHL. Wasnie was inducted into the Manitoba Sports Hall of Fame in 2019. The CCM skates are marked in white underneath with Wasnie's #14. The skates and gloves show incredible wear, with team repairs present throughout the Spalding tagged leather gloves.
