The Trophy offered here was presented to Reginald Hamilton of the 1934 Toronto Maple Leafs for participating in the charity hockey series titled the Gyro Cup. The Charity game was played in April of 1934 and featured the Toronto Maple Leafs vs. Detroit Red Wings. The cup is engraved on the facing side with a spinning "Gyro" at the top edge, along with Reginald Hamilton at the bottom edge (A Toronto Maple Leafs prospect at the time). The Trophy is accompanied by a program from the event. According to the program, the purpose of the Gyro Cup was to raise money for the foundation to build playgrounds for children.
