The 1980 Topps Basketball wax pack is an iconic example central to NBA card collecting, potentially housing the iconic Magic Johnson, Larry Bird, and Julius Irving trio perforated rookie cards. While Topps had experimented with three-player cards in insert sets, this was the first time it was included in the base set. The result was an iconic card that brought together two of the most celebrated rookies in NBA history (Johnson and Bird) and one of the game’s all-time greats (Irving).
