
TWO PAIRS OF MENUKI (HILT GRIPS), A KOZUKA (KNIFE HANDLE), AND A PAIR OF FUCHI-GASHIRA (HILT COLLAR AND POMMEL) Muromachi (1333-1573), Momomaya (1573-1615), and Edo (1615-1868) periods, 15th-19th centuries Comprising a Hamano-school copper, shakudō, and gilt pair of menuki of three oni (demons), one signed Masayuki and the other possibly signed Shichimasuryū; a shakudō, gilt, and silvered pair of menuki of Ebisu and Daikoku bearing their typical implements; a Ko-Kinkō kozuka of silvered shakudo with a Buddhist rosary in high relief; and an Ishiguro-school copper alloy pair of fuchi-gashira with nanako pattern, the fuchi featuring two family crests in relief, one of three open folding fans forming a circle and the other of three spread-winged butterflies forming a circle around a chrysanthemum flower-head, the kashira sharing a single crest of the three folding fans with its partner, the fuchi signed Ishiguro Masachika and with a kaō 3 3/4in (9.7cm) long, the kozuka (7).
